The Long Form Performancec Lab
FOR ACTORS SEEKING INTENSIVE TRAINING THROUGH HANDS-ON, PERFORMANCE-LED WORK.
Welcome to an unparalleled journey into the heart of acting with an intensive and transformative workshop designed to redefine your approach to the art of performance.
Led by award-winning theatre practitioner Jimish Thakkar, this series promises to bring a profound shift in thinking and prepares actors to perform with precision, control and walk away with an empowered sense of artistry.
Most actor training stays in exercises. Most productions skip the training and rush to results. The Long Form Performance Lab exists to bridge that gap—by letting you train inside the real work of building a full-length play.
When it comes to the type of training, most actors don’t have the time or access to full-time conservatory training, and even if they do, it can take years to connect the dots between key acting techniques as
introduced by legends like Stanislavsky, Meisner, Adler, and Lecoq.
This lab borrows from the spine of the year-long Long Form Workshop process and teaches you techniques that are practical, personal, and repeatable under rehearsal pressure, and you can learn by doing in half the time as compared to the regular LongForm Workshop .
Do any or all of the above aspirations resonate with you? If so, this workshop series is for you.
Your aspirations are at the heart of this experience, promising not just a shift in thinking but a profound transformation in your artistry.
How is the lab structured?
The Lab runs once a week (currently every Wednesday 7:30–9:30 PM. Starting 18 Feb and ending around 24 Jun 2026)
One room, two modes (every session):
1. Beliefs Block (training):
Work on the LongForm spine—arrive, given circumstances, acceptance, want/obstacle, playable action—plus the specific skill the production demands that week (listening, tactics, timing, status, tempo, physical life, etc.).
2. Rehearsal Block (application):
Apply the same principles immediately to scenes from the
production—on your feet, with direction, notes, and re-runs.
3. Culmination: A public performance of a full-length English play.

How does this workshop stand out amongst other acting programs?
Our workshop stands out in several ways.
Firstly, affordability is a key focus for us as a non-profit organization. We’ve structured our fees to be more accessible, ensuring aspiring actors can benefit from quality education without breaking the bank.
Secondly, we understand the demands of daily life, and our once-a-week evening sessions provide flexibility for participants to engage without disrupting their routines.
Finally, for an actor, training builds tools. Performing in a show tests them. This lab does both.
The Performance Lab is a curated, intensive actor-training experience for actors who prefer to learn through hands-on, performance-led work and apply it immediately inside a real production process.
